I wasn’t expecting this, but former Seattle City Council District 4 candidate and Harvard Law alumni Ron Davis, is just plain wrong.

After losing to Councilmember Maritza Rivera in November he has kind of turned into a sore loser. It was the last thing I was expecting to see. Shortly after the new elects took the dais in January, Ron started writing a blog on sub-stack. There’s an old leadership adage:

Lead, Follow or Get Out of the Way.

They must not have taught Ron that at Harvard Law. As a candidate for public office, absent claims of election meddling, interference or outright fraud, when voters reject you, you have to accept that fact as the will of the people. You have to look long and hard at yourself to evaluate the reasons for your loss and dig deep within to carry on with whatever you may still believe to be the right thing. Despite being deeply misguided by her own desires, even Hillary Clinton understood this.

In the end Seattle elected a more moderate, perhaps, even more conservative individual to lead us to a better future. Telling people that this is stupid, that is stupid, or the other thing that they are doing is stupid, when they’re doing whatever it is they are doing in service to the community, makes YOU look stupid Ron.

Stop being such a stupid sore loser and give Maritza a chance to lead.
